Dr. Yu’s extensive experience in both Chinese and Western medicine gives her a unique perspective that allows her to deliver the best possible care to all her patients. Credentials
Dr. Yu is nationally certified in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She earned her Bachelor’s degree in medicine from West China University of Medical Sciences and her Master’s degree from Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She has also worked as an internal medicine physician after her residency in China.
Dr. Yu is also a member of the American Association of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (AAAOM), the American Acupuncture Council (AAC), and the board member of North Carolina Association of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (NCAAOM).

Traditional Chinese medicine is a practice that emphasizes a person’s holistic well-being. The Chinese believe that the human body is covered in a network of energy called “Qi” and acupuncture points were locations where Qi was highly concentrated. Modern science also shows that acupuncture points are correlated with important junctions in the nervous system and stimulation causes the release of chemicals that promote the body’s natural healing response.
At our practice, we believe that the human body is remarkable, and that is why we seek to strengthen and invigorate it through all natural methods. We combine acupuncture with traditional Chinese herbal remedies to address a variety of our patients' needs.
